A Breast Lift (Mastopexy) can raise and reshape sagging breasts by removing excess skin and repositioning remaining tissue and nipples. The duration of results is variable. Gravity, pregnancy, aging and weight changes may cause new sagging. Results may last longer or be enhanced when breast implants are inserted as part of the procedure.

A Breast Lift is usually an outpatient surgery with preparations and procedure encompassing 1 to 3 hours. General anesthesia is administered during the procedure. Temporary bruising, swelling, discomfort, numbness, dry breast skin and permanent scars can be expected.

Our patients are usually back to work in 1 week or more, but strenuous activity should be avoided for 1 month. The fading of scars will take several months to a year.
